CHAIRMAN’S COMMENTS . . .

“Every man should be born again on the first day of January.  Start with a fresh page.  Take up one hole more in the buckle if necessary, or let down one, according to circumstances; but on the first day of January let every man gird himself once more, with his face to the front, and take no interest in the things that were and are past.”
–  Henry Ward Beecher

Happy New Year Enneadians…. We did not get to celebrate together, but hope to soon again… This season of disease will end. I believe that we will once again be able to enjoy each other’s fellowship and have a fuller life. This pandemic has changed the way many of us lead our everyday lives, from going to the gym (or not), to going to church (or not). Ennead is a social, vibrant, energetic, vivacious entity and as such has been held down by this disease. I believe the direction we are now headed is to end this and put life back on a more normal course. I saw an article yesterday by Dr. Anthony Fauci saying he expects a return to normalcy by fall. I hope we see it much, much sooner.

Carnival Memphis is on hold at least until July for new events, and I think Ennead is trying to safely have opportunities for small groups who wish to brave the situation. Your board members are anxiously looking for a safe opportunity to have an event and would happily entertain any suggestions to that end. We wish all a Happy and Better New Year and let us start it soon! Thanks to those of our group that are still trying to make gatherings happen!

Don’t forget, January 31 is the last day for the special 2021dues pricing!  If you have not done so, write that check for $100 and send it to the Ennead post office box.  We need all of you to keep Ennead viable until this pandemic ends.

“The Old Year has gone.  Let the dead past bury its own dead.  The New Year has taken possession of the clock of time.  All hail the duties and possibilities of the coming twelve months!”
