May and October, the best-smelling months? I’ll make a case for December: evergreen, frost, wood smoke, cinnamon.”

– Lisa Kleypas, Love in the AfternoonWell,

November 2020… What can you say? Just when we think its gonna get better, it doesn’t! We planned a fall party and it was well attended. Fortunately, good health practices were observed and all had a good time. The fall party venue was provided by Jerry Michie at the Delta Blues winery and we had a chance to share stories, good food and libations along with a wonderful campfire there. We welcomed several guests (including a number from the Krewe of Phoenix) that attended and it was good to visit with friends again. Thank you Jerry Michie for the venue, and Paola High for decorations. Hot dogs, smoked sausages and s’mores were the menu for the party. Thanks again to every member who attended and help make it a success with their contributions.

I know that everyone is looking forward to seeing Santa on the 25th and I would like to wish a Happy Holidays to all our members.

As the New Year is soon upon us, I would like to encourage everyone to send in their 2020 Ennead Dues to help keep our Krewe functioning as it should.

Dead On Christmas Eve
Three men die on Christmas Eve and go to heaven, where they’re met by Saint Peter. “In order to get in,” he tells them, “you must each produce something representative of the holidays.”
The first man digs into his pockets and pulls out a match and lights it. “This represents a candle of hope.” Impressed, Peter lets him in.
The second man pulls out a tangle of keys and shakes them. “These are bells.” He’s allowed in too.
So,” Peter says to the third man, “what do you have?”
The third man proudly shows him a pair of red panties.
What do these have to do with Christmas?” asks Peter.
They’re Carol’s.”
