July is hot afternoons and sultry nights and mornings when its joy just to be alive. July is a picnic and a red canoe and a sunburned neck and a softball game and ice tinkling in a tall glass. July is a blind date with summer.      — Hal Borland

Well… Memphis moved from phase 1 to phase 2 and I think everyone had their hope up that we were finally going to be able to assume a semblance of normal life as it should be soon. We had a well-attended Ennead gathering at Delta Blues Winery, courtesy of Jerry Michie. The Music, food and comradery was exceptional and greatly enjoyed by all. It is wonderful to be associated with members such as we have, because things just get done! Thanks to all that made it possible. After this first attempt, I think we were all encouraged. We even, started planning for another gathering for the 4th of July. Well… Then It Happened! The Covid count keeps going up. The local government was even discussing a return to Phase 1. So, I am sorry to say that all is still on hold. I don’t see an end real soon but I am so ready for it. Our Ennead Board, Committee Chairs, and Small Groups are all so wishing that we could resume our fellowship again, but prudence says it’s just not time. September Young has and will be putting together some opportunities to visit safely with social distancing like the one we had at Patriot Lake in June, so watch for an Ennead Blast that will offer another opportunity such as that. Because our attendance is small, our book club will meet in July and observe social distancing at Peggy Edwards home. Date and time will be in the blast. Thanks for being an Enneadian and please reach out to one another and stay in touch. Stay Well and Stay Strong!

When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That’s relativity.  —Albert Einstein
