“It is December, and nobody asked if I was ready.”
― Sarah Kay
Well, it’s December and another year has almost flown by.
November proved to be another great time to be a part of Ennead. A couple of special events, our fall party and Thanksgiving potluck were well attended by our members. The fall party venue was provided by Jerry Michie at the Delta Blues winery and we had a chance to share stories, music, good food and libations along with a wonderful campfire. We welcomed several guests that attended and I think everyone had a good time. Thank you Jerry Michie for the venue, Karen Mora, Paola High for decorations and everyone for sharing food and deserts.
The Thanksgiving potluck was hosted by Vickie Carwell and everyone brought food and drinks to share. Thanks again to every member who attended and helped make it a success with their contributions.
As to other happenings in November: Happy Hour celebration at Marciano’s on Brookhaven was organized by Jim Sharpe, the dance group headed by Camilla Wilson met at the Shrine, Peggy Edwards hosted our Book Club, Steve Grushkin headed up our Dinner Group at Buckley’s, and Poker was hosted by September Young. Our Wine Party this month was hosted by Paola High and as always was a wonderful experience. Rummikub game night was hosted by Vickie Carwell and we finished up the month of our regular events with Sally Gentry’s leadership for the Ladies Night at the home of Camilla Wilson.
Thanks to John Goodyear for organizing our small groups and LaMora Simpson for keeping us all informed of our events and happenings through our email Blasts and newsletter. It can never be said enough that the generous membership of Ennead makes all these events and more possible! Thank
you all, you are what makes this group a success!!
Our December has a special Ennead event that I always look forward to attending and this year will be no exception. The Christmas Gala Will be held at Southwind Country Club (made possible by Carol McCourt). A special thanks goes to Connie Spencer and the 2018 board for pre-planning this event. We
will have music provided by The Tornados. This formal event includes a sit down dinner you won’t want to miss. So mark your calendar for 6:30 pm December 7th.
I know that everyone is looking forward to seeing Santa on the 25 th and I would like to wish a Happy Holidays to all our members. Keep in mind our Ennead coronation is just around the corner and be sure to volunteer to help Paola High in her decoration efforts for this and any other events we have. When everyone pitches in it makes our gatherings so much better!
Remember Greg Maski who takes many of the photos at our events has asked that everyone please forward any additional pictures you may have taken to him and they will be included in our online photo album that has been added to Ennead.info website. (You can also download pictures from that site to
share with others).
As the New Year is soon upon us, I would like to encourage everyone to send in their 2020 Ennead Dues to help keep our Krewe functioning as it should.
“I heard the bells on Christmas Day Their old, familiar carols play, And wild and sweet the words repeat Of peace on earth, good-will to men!”
– Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Dress up and Celebrate Christmas with a Sit Down Dinner and Dancing to the music of “The Tornados” at Southwind Country Club. You MUST use the entrance off of Hacks Cross Road in order to be admitted. This fabulous party is a “perk” for members as it is FREE to members who have made RESERVATIONS (Deadline was Dec 2). The guest fee is $65. Black Tie is preferred but we mainly want the pleasure of your company.
Cocktails will be available at a cash bar. The bar will have NO card reader so plan to pay cash or be prepared to leave your credit card at the bar until you are ready to leave!
There will only be one bar set up so if you would like a cocktail before dinner, plan to come early (at 6:30PM) so you have plenty of time to greet, mingle, and enjoy libations before dinner. Dinner will be served at 7:30.
Please be sure to RSVP to your
Holiday Potluck Punchbowl Invitation and indicate what you will bring so our “planners” can PLAN YOU AN AMAZING POTLUCK!
