CHAIRMAN’S COMMENTS . . .
Pumpkin spice and everything nice.

Can you believe it?  Summer is almost gone and fall is starting.  The excitement at Ennead continues….

This past month we continued to have many opportunities to enjoy each other’s fellowship and comradery made possible by the membership’s hard work.  John Goodyear, our small group’s organizer, kept us informed and aware of the functions and activities for the month.  A special thanks goes out to those who shared their time and homes to make it all possible.  Ennead enjoyed our Happy Hour celebration at Sweet Grass in the Cooper Young area on the 6th.  The dance group met at the Shrine on the 8th.  Peggy Edwards hosted our Book Club on the 10th and we had a good discussion of the book ‘Educated’.  Rummikub game night was on the 16th and hosted by Vickie Carwell.  Our Wine Party was well attended at Jean Oliver’s home on the 20th and we celebrated the September Birthdays.  We had our monthly poker game on the 24th and finished up the month with Sally Gentry’s and Camilla Wilson’s leadership for the Ladies Night and Music Groups gathering at Layfayette’s Music Hall and the dinner group at Pete and Sam’s organized by Steve Grushkin.  (A special belated shout out of thanks goes to Barbara Baker for hosting our August wine party which was a grievous oversight by the Ennead Chairperson.)

I am happy to announce that in September we welcomed the confirmation of our 2 newest Enneadians September Young and Rick Lloyd.  Our Ennead Board is now at full membership with the addition of Jerry Michie who graciously agreed to serve and was confirmed by the sitting board on September 9th. We now have a devoted 12 member board that is actively committed to the success of Ennead.

October provides us one of the most fun holidays of the year.  As usual, Ennead plans to celebrate it in grand fashion.  Great planning under the leadership of Karen Mora, has gone into making our upcoming Halloween Party exceptional this year.  It will be an event you won’t want to miss.  Mark your calendars for October 25th.  The location will be Al Chymia Shrine Temple on Shelby Oaks from 7 til midnight.  We will be providing hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, and a live band, Memphis Funk! There will be special events including costume contests with awards for best costume in several categories.  This is provided free of charge in your Ennead membership, so be sure and come and don’t miss out on the fun.  Be sure and invite your friends so we can share in our Ennead hospitality (and maybe present an opportunity to add new members).  Our guest fee for non-members is only $45.  Where else can you have so much fun for so little….   I look forward to seeing everyone there!
