Fall is here! Soon it will be Halloween, and plans are underway for Ennead’s annual party celebrating that holiday. This year we will gather at the Al Chymia Shrine for “Spirits and Spirits” with music by the Memphis Mafia. With plenty of room for dancing, ample food, a full bar, and creative costumes this will be one of the best parties of the year. Invite all your colleagues and friends – and especially potential members – to join us!
Hurricanes Irene and Maria have commanded our attention during much of September. Our hearts go out to those with family and friends in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and other areas affected by these violent storms.
In spite of heavy rain and power outages here at home, Ennead’s September activities began with a successful happy hour at Napa Café, attended by more than 30 members. Regular monthly events kept us busy: Camilla Wilson hosted Rummikub, Peggy Edwards made us welcome for discussion of The Glass Castle, and Don Harants presided over the Poker tables. The Dinner Group enjoyed Italian cuisine at Strano in Cooper Young. Our first Cultural Arts event of the year, hosted by Bill McMurtray, brought a group to the Memphis Japanese Festival at the Botanic Garden, and Yvonne Fournier gathered movie enthusiasts to see Wind River. We closed the month with a wine party at the Arlington home of Gaynette Price. Thanks to all who make these events possible and enjoyable.
You recently elected a new Board of Directors. It is our responsibility to represent the interests of all members of Ennead to the best of our ability, and we are committed to that effort. As we work together, we will ensure that our krewe remains strong as we continue to “Party with a Purpose” in support of children’s charities.
